Required to Get an Alcohol & Drug Assessment?

IMPACT is the largest provider of alcohol and drug screening, assessment and referral services in Wisconsin.

  • Operating While Intoxicated [OWI]
Milwaukee County residents convicted of OWI are required to obtain an assessment as part of the process to regain their driver's license.
  • Other Court-Ordered Assessments
IMPACT provides alcohol and drug assessments for other violations including reckless driving; possession; underage consumption; and disorderly conduct; as well as cases involving domestic violence and child custody disputes.
  • Professional Licensing Boards
Nurses and other medical professionals are occasionally referred to IMPACT for an alcohol and drug assessment.
  • Substance Abuse Professional [SAP]
Safety-sensitive employees in the transportation industry, including Commercial Drivier's License holders, who engage in prohibited conduct cannot return to work until they are evaluated by a Substance Abuse Professional [SAP] and complete a recommendation process.

The Assessment Process

Our counselors offer a pleasant and professional experience where clients feel supported and motivated to resolve their dilemma. The assessment is a conversational interview based on a series of questions regarding drinking, drug use, and related issues. Your counselor will discuss the results of the assessment with you and, based on the findings, recommend a course of action which may include education or treatment.
