The Drug-Free Communities Support Program is a program designed
to aid community coalitions across the country in their efforts
to limit alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and promote drug-free
communities. It is administered by the Office of Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and overseen by
the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
Community coalitions are comprised of youth, parents, business
and media representatives, school officials, law enforcement,
civic, volunteer, and fraternal groups, healthcare professionals
and religious organizations. The Drug-Free Communities Support
Program enables the coalitions to strengthen their coordination
and prevention efforts, encourage citizen participation in
substance abuse reduction efforts, and disseminate information
about effective programs.
The Milwaukee Drug-Free Communities Program is coordinated
by IMPACT, Inc. on behalf of the Milwaukee Youth and Family
Development Alliance. A significant partner included in this
effort is Fighting Back, Inc.
