Self-Referral
This free and confidential service assists individuals and
families who have questions about their own alcohol or drug
use or the use of another person.
Our professional alcohol and drug counselor will talk with
you on the telephone or meet with you in person to help you
determine the seriousness of the problem and identify ways
to help solve it. Strategies might include developing a plan
for drinking within safe consumption guidelines, referral
to support groups or getting you connected with a treatment
program.
If you end up choosing a plan that includes treatment, our
consultants will help you locate a program and explore options
for payment. Our counselors are familiar with most treatment
programs in the community including programs that accept health
insurance, those that have a sliding fee scale, programs that
are free of charge and programs that you may qualify for if
you don’t have health insurance or the ability to pay.
For assistance, please call 256-4808.
Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) Program
In Wisconsin, any driver convicted of Operating While Intoxicated
(OWI) is court-ordered to see a state approved OWI Specialist
for an assessment. In Milwaukee County, the approved facility
is IMPACT. To make an appointment,
please call 414-443-6000.
Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Assessment
Specialized evaluations, assessments and follow-up for workers
who fall under the Department of Transportation (DOT) substance
abuse regulations.
The SAP evaluates individuals following a positive alcohol
or drug test. Based on the results of the evaluation, the
SAP will determine the education or treatment program necessary
to resolve the problem. Case management services are provided
until the individual has completed the process. If
you need a SAP to reinstate your CDL, please call 414-256-4808.
