Keep Kids Drug-Free
Prevention Services at IMPACT provides educational products
and services to
youth, parents, volunteers, school administrators, and professional
and support
staff in schools and other organizations. We offer curriculum
development, customized training, consultation and support
with a focus on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse (ATODA)
prevention education.
Schools play a major role in the development
of healthy, drug-free kids. It is often difficult to identify
and implement effective, research-based prevention programs.
Peers with IMPACT (4th-12th grade) and TRAILS, (K-3rd grade)
are two successful and cost-effective school-based programs
created by IMPACT to help schools achieve their ATODA prevention
goals.

The Drug-Free Communities Support program offers assistance
to organizations to help them develop alcohol, tobacco, and
other drug abuse prevention programs and other initiatives
that will positively influence the attitudes and behaviors
of Milwaukee’s youth.

Because IMPACT recognizes the vital role that parents play
in preventing alcohol and other drug abuse within their families,
IMPACT provides parenting workshops to organizations and schools
throughout the Milwaukee area. Our parent education and support
programs teach parents about alcohol and other drug abuse
and help improve their communication skills. Workshop topics
include, "The Prepared Parent – What you need to
know to raise drug-free kids", "Helping Your Child
Cope with Peer Pressure", "Strengthening the Family",
and "Your Message Matters – Talking with your teens
about alcohol and other drugs".
